Food & Review • North Carolina 09'

This past weekend my family and I traveled to North Carolina where we ate lots of yummy foods. A few stood out in my mind. One of them, Brixx Firewood Pizza, in Chapel Hill NC. We do not have this restaurant here in Colorado. At Brixx the atmosphere was warm and fun and casual, perfect for a family outing. I enjoyed the Brixx Salad, fresh greens drizzled with a balsamic vinaigrette, topped with goats cheese, toasted pine nuts and croutons (which I had almost devoured all of it before I remembered to take a picture.) Also I enjoyed the Quattro Fromaggio a fire roasted pizza which I also added roasted chicken and artichokes to it. Yum!

Second was a dessert from The Washington Duke Inn, the Pumpkin Pie Profiteroles, with a chocolate carmel sauce. This dessert was delicious! The cinnamon pumpkin ice cream was divine along with the sauce. This was my daughters favorite.

Wherever my travels take me I will be making this a feature on my food blog so check back for more Food & Review.

Enjoy!

  1. Love this post! Such inspiration! Funny, my menu for dinner tonight calls for chicken pesto pizza (I'll try the artichoke next time) with a spring salad. :-) That dessert looks too pretty to eat! Lol... I'm sure it was delectable though!
